the project: design three spreads of an original
magazine publication based on a specific area of interest.
the goal: craft a publication that covers the latest innovations in the pop music genre & uplifts artists of the digital age.

THE CONCEPT
Inspired by the genre's upbeat essence, TEMPO Mag captures the world of pop music.
I was in awe of the output of quality pop music that released in the first few months of quarantine, particularly Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia and Charli XCX's How I'm Feeling Now, an album produced in self-isolation over the span of one month.
Tempo spreads were based around the text of two articles published at this time.

With the Tempo logo, I aimed to encapsulate the positive, uplifting energy that high-tempo pop music releases.
WORDMARK
REFINED WORDMARK

Starting with the typeface Dogma, I manipulated letters to increase their thickness, rounded the corners,and dimensionality, and I extended the M tail to emulate Y2K flair.
